Second Deadline

Second Deadline

When you are working with Cryptoghraphie, for instance Caesar Cypher, you will have to deal with some problems. However life goes on and you will have to resolve the problem anyways. It might not be easy to solve a problem but it is what must be done to keep going on. Your everyday life won't be always as you wish, this is why problems will cross you path. This problems have to be solved. At same it goes with the problems you get during decoding Caesar Cipher. In our case the problem was finding the key. Therefore we took the most time we had available to work on the clues. We didn't thought that what we did was actually wrong.
This is why we think that it is important is to believe in what you did, to be brave and keep trying.

We end up using a shift cipher that Khan Academy made aviable for us. It looked like this

No matter how much and how different techniques you use to solve a problem, you need to know what your goal is. It may happen that you use many different techniques, however they will be usless if you don´t know for what you are using them. If your goal is to decode a message and you don´t know what the key is to solve it, you can´t start looking for the key letting behind your goal ( in this case the goal would be decoding the message, not finding the key). To get to your frinds house you might need to cross some train rails without getting hit by the train. However you will have to remember that your real objective was getting to your friends house.

This is why you need to know the following:

Nevertheless staying focused is not as easy as it seems. Here an other problem could take place.
This is why this video could actually help  you:

Hi everyone! Welcome back to our blog. This week we kept on working with Cryptography on  our NTYCX lessons. We searched for information about the topic and read it carefully, employing two different stages for reaching a solution. In the last blog we used the Define and Discover stages but this time we have to use the Dream and the Design stages. In the Dream stage, the use of our imagination and creativity are the most important  parts for get the solution we want. On the  other  hand,  for the Design stage,  we have to use different mehtods and techniques for finding the solution  to the problem.

Here is a photograph about Cypher code and we chose it as an example for this kind of code.

Hi Guys! Welcome back to our NTCYX blog. After we finished the first part of our Khan Academy mission we started desiphering the second part of the mission, that consists also in Cryptography and Cyphers activities. You continue deciphering the secret code found in the road. The activity gives you a lot of problems and clues that you need to solve to get to the end of this courious message, as we said in the previous post. As our time is limited we work in the activity in teams of 4 or 2 for productivity.  The link for the Khan Academy's activity is in the last post and we paste it in this post too: Click Here.

We chose this picture, because if you put your skills and your knowledge together you can achieve anything.

Second deadline

In the last post, we had to work on the stages "Define" and "Discover" to resolve a problem. As you can see now on the Head of the post, on this post we are going to be explaining on the next stages defined as "Dream" and "Design". So why are these two stages actually useful? But firstly, how are they used? So , in the design phase we "begin utilizing gathered knowledge to synthetise solutions." It means, we begin to analize and select the whole information we aquired an try to think a way of a possible solution to the core problem. This stage is closely connected to the "Dream" stage, where the main action is to imagine a possible solution, as said before, but also to watch different perspectives and options for the solving of the problem.

(We liked this picture because it represents what these design and dream skills can achieve.)

This is our radio audition explaining the topic:

So this is a refresh video of our last post. Hope you enjoy it!

Second Deadline

Welcome back to our blog! This week we have been working with cryptography. Our teacher asked us two question and we had to answer them. We couldn't answer them just by copying what the internet said, we had to analyse the information and get to our own conclusions.
As you may see, in our last post we talked about how to locate a keyword. The keyword is like a password, it is a path to the solution. Finding the key, is not as easy as it seems. To do so, it is important to remember one thing: locating information and paying attention to the video. Now we have to "dream" and let our imagination fly to find the possible solution to all the problems that had shown up. Here we will show you how far our imagination went to...

In order to solve all the problems that showed up, we used some strategies that were very useful. Some of them were the videos that Google Classroom offered to us and some extra information from Google. The dream skills were very important for us to reach the solution creating something imaginary. You have to imaginate, extrapolate and visualize in this phase. In the design phase, we began using gathered knowledge to synthesize solutions. We created goals, assigned team roles, which worked very well.
We let our imagination fly to find a possible solution to the problem. It is not as complex as it seems. Do not be afraid! You just need to be creative and think outside the box!

We hope you enjoyed our post!

Reflection

Today in class we used some different skills. We worked in separated groups. First we read about these new skills that we had to use, dream and design. With this information each group had to design a project that describes why cryptography is important in our lives. The results were all very different:

In conclusion, the favourite ones. The first one choosed was the most realistic one and the second was both interesting and challenging.

Rena B, Cata P, Delfi E, Cami R, Katja G, Luci N, Juan V, Marco H.

Reflection

In todays class we were asked to do a poster about how to apply cryptography in our daily life. We had to use the design and dream Skills to create this poster. There were actually 3 posters delivered by our class members. Though these two were selected as most realistic ( the yellow one) and more interesting and challenging ( the blue one). It was a good way to learn how to use these skills with limitless imagination applying it to a simple assignment as a poster.

Group members: Giuliano Menini, Paula Forster, Sofia Hurwitz, Nicole Schwamberger and Catalina Pastorino
