The "Hour of code" week

Last week we worked in a new online learning platform called Khan Academy, but this website isn't like others. Here you can learn about lot of things in an interactive way. Seeing videos for explanations, doing challenges and projects to implement your skills, are some examples of how Khan Academy helps you improve your knowledge on the topic you are interested in. The website also presents learning as a game, this means that every class Khan Academy gives you points based on your progress. We worked the entire week on an activity called "The Hour of code" which gives you an introduction to the coding world.

Challenge:
The challenge is one of the interactive activities that Khan Academy has. Here you implement the skills you learned. When reach the Challenge Unit you receive a task which you need to complete in the "Coding Box". As soon as you complete the task, the platform will give you another task and so on until you reach the final result. But you will not be alone, Khan Academy will give you some tips so you can finish your asingment.

Our first challenge was "Simple Snowman" and this was our result:
The only comands we used to do the snowman was ellipse(); for the snowman circles.

From this project we earned about 1050 points.

Projects:
The proyect is like the final exam of all the new commands you have been using and learning. It summarize all the commands that appear in every challenge we did. You have to use them to make a final project. When you finish with the project you will get a amount of points.
We had to choose between three projects. One was drawing a snowman, the other one was drawing a wild animal and the last option was to draw yourself. We decide to draw a snowman.
The commands we use for draw the snowman were:
-ellipse: For the three circle of the snowman, for the bottoms and the eyes.
-fill: It fill the figure you choose from a color you choose
-line: For drawing the arms of the snowman
-rect: For draw the floor and the hut of the snowman
-triangle: For the nose
-noStroke: Disables the contours of the figures
-strokeWeight: Change the thickness of lines and outlines

And this was our result:

Badges and Energy points:
Badges are like the name says Badges that you earn by doing specific things, implementing different skills or by doing challenges. There are 6 different Badgets each one with many different levels and goals.

The Energy Points are points that the platform give you for completing a task, seing a video or doing a proyect. This points can be used for buing avatars for your profile and others things.
